εὐδοκιμέω – be respected, in good repute (cf. δόξα,  reputation, glory)

ἀπο-κλείω (Ion. –κληίω)- shut out, bar some one (acc.) from (gen.)

 

δειλία – cowardice      γνώμη – judgement, opinion

παρ-οράω, -εῖδον – see wrong, find a defects

δια-κλέπτω – withhold, keep (you) by stealth (~ ‘cheating fate’)

            τὸν ἀυτὸς φόνου ἐκάθηρε,  ‘the one whom he himself had cleansed of bloodshed’

            πρὸς δὲ τούτῳ -- in addition (to this)

            χρεόν ἐστι ~ χρή, it is necessary

            οἰκός ἐστι – it is seemly, proper
