COURSE OUTLINE & OBJECTIVE |
This is a course in econometrics. Econometrics engages in empirical verification of economic theory. In other words, we will try to bridge the gap between the abstract world of economic theory and the real world of economic activity in this course. We will primarily focus on single-equation linear regression analysis. Simple and multiple regression analysis will be discussed in details. Time permitting, simultaneous equations, time series analysis and other related topics will be introduced. Throughout, our approach will be intuitive and example based. You will get hands on experience working with Eviews to produce regression results. |
