Dates
This is page has some problems but may eventually be useful
for seeing where relative consensus exists on dating and where big
disagreements remain. As of now, it is too incomplete. E.g., most
critical scholars consider the 1, 2, Timothy and Titus late forgeries, but all
the dates given on this page assume authenticity. I also wonder how many
visitors to this page would have any idea which are the liberal and which are
the conservative Christian scholars.

Gender
A conservative organization that favors
biblical subordination of women.
"Christians for Biblical Equality is an
organization of Christians who believe that the Bible, properly
interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of men and women of all
racial and ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all age groups, based
on the teachings of scripture as reflected in Galatians 3:28: There is
neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither
male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
A Baptist pastor whose church was kicked out of its
local association over the ordination of a gay deacon, wrestles with a
highly controversial issue.
An article by a respected conservative evangelical which,
according to him, "show[s] that Paul joins Peter and Joel in affirming women share
coordinately with men a ministry role."
A liberal Catholic perspective on women in the
church.
A Southern Baptist pastor explains his church's
position.
Judaism and Christianity
"These pages are dedicated to a special relationship.
They are not about Christianity or Judaism per se, but about the development
of a new understanding between the two communities after a long history of
animosity."

 | The
Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy
Written by some influential evangelical,
ultra-conservative, and fundamentalist theologians, this statement expresses a
very high view of biblical inspiration. But readers should think
carefully about the fine print, especially the "denials," or what
I would called "exclusions," in articles VII, X, XIII and XIV.

This lecture is a good introduction to the wide range of
Christian views about the nature of biblical inspiration.
