Drop Policy

As a student, it is your responsibility to understand the University's procedure for dropping a course. If you stop attending a course, but do not follow proper procedure for dropping the course, you will receive a failing grade and will also be financially obligated to pay for the class.

To drop a class anytime after the first week of classes, you are required to complete and turn in a "drop slip" at an authorized registration center (see 2003/2004 Missouri State Undergraduate Catalog, pp. 51-52; http://www.missouristate.edu/recreg/chnsched.html).

You do not need to obtain any signatures on the drop slip. The drop slip does not need to be signed by your instructor, your advisor, or anyone else. If you wish to withdraw from the University (i.e., drop all of your courses), please contact the Registration Center, Carrington Hall Room 320 or call 417-836-5522.

It is the student's responsibility to know the relevant drop deadlines. You may find those deadline dates on the University's Academic Calendar.
