Lewis and Clark Critter Research Rubric Scoring Guide


Content

___+   3   • A picture of your animal (clip art, sketch, or scanned photo). You must have at least one and not more than three.
___+ 10   • A description of your animal’s habitat including the:
___+    3  • climate of habitat
___+    3  • shelter needed
___+  10  • your animal’s other survival needs, such as information about the following as it pertains to your animal: its instincts, hibernation, migration, camouflage, and adaptations in lifestyles, body parts or characteristics
___+    3   • foods they depend upon
___+    3   • Is your animal an omnivore, herbivore, insectivore, or carnivore?
___+    3   • their enemies
___+    5   • food web or at least a food chain, beginning with a producer and ending with your animal as the prey. You can create this web or chain using Inspiration or drawing it by hand on a 8 x 10 sheet of unlined paper so we can scan it and put it into your Power Point
___+   3    • Name your animal’s group name. For example: flock, mob, herd, etc. 
___+   3    • How your animal cares for its young
___ +  5    •Other interesting facts you might want to include are up to you.

Mechanics and Conventions
___+   5    •Kept note cards, labeled correctly, one piece of information per card
___+   5    •Had resource bibliography information on note cards
___+   3    •Handed in note cards
___+   3    •Included bibliography information on ending page of ppt presentation.
___+   5    •Had an outline developed and handed in before working on ppt planning.
___+   5    •Used a PowerPoint plan before beginning project (made use of ppt planning   sheets, getting them okayed by a teacher)
___ +  5    •Format of ppt presentation is pleasing, easy to read and understand, fonts are appropriate, etc.
___ +  5   •Some slides included interactive buttons.
