Charity Kick Ball
Event
What a HUGE success
this was for the 5th
grade boys who
organized the event!
They were Julius
Walker, Trevor
Engleman, Paul
Parrish, and Tommy
Montileone.
And, special thanks
goes to their
parents, Letitia
Walker, Gina
Engleman, Rosalia
Parrish, and Jonna
Montileone for
backing the boys up
in their project.
A special thank you goes to all the 7th graders who
volunteered to pitch
the game and help
out! What a
great bunch of kids!
All 4th and 5th graders who participated had a blast.
I must say that I
was so very proud of
the wonderful
behavior of all the
students; it was an
impressive night for
all who attended.
From what I heard
from parents,
everyone had a fun
time.
The boys had a $200 goal, and they far surpassed it,
earning
$645.00!
We sold water (50¢)
and popcorn (25¢),
and the silent
auction consisted of
free homework and
recess passes and
candy were donated
by Mrs. Milburn and
me! Thanks,
Mrs. Milburn for
helping out with the
silent auction items
you made available! |

Leukemia Light the Night Fund Raising

|
Well, we surpassed
last year by a landslide! We raised a
total of $6176.22! Our team came in 2nd
place again this year for fundraising.
Together we showed how we can make a
difference in this world! |
As we received donations from
friends, relatives, neighbors, and
various other people who were willing to
help us reach our goal, the paper
balloons filled our hallway outside our
classroom.

Bake Sale
On the day of our bake sale when we made
a total of $486.62our
honor patient, Ethan Hite, came for a
visit with the class. Jason, his
father, explained what Ethan has had to
go through already in his short, young
life. We learned a lot, and just before
they left, Ethan threw us a kiss. |

| Light the Night,
Saturday, September 24, finally
arrives! Time for the celebration with
food, games and fun...and then the 3
mile walk. It was a long walk, a
pleasant night with a soft rain, and
everyone enjoyed themselves. We were
awarded the second place for
fundraising, and that night the money
raised was $92,000--the most ever raised
in the Springfield area! We were so
proud to be part of that total. We had
lots of our classmates there, lots of
our parents, and even Dr. Janice Duncan,
our Greenwood Director, came to cheer us
on! It was a remarkable night. Not
only was our class there, but many 4th
grade alumni showed up to join us. How
fun! |
