Join the Greenwood
NING It is
school-wide social network
From Kathy Gibson, secondary
English teacher...
I set up our Greenwood Ning
last semester, and we have
around 100 people who have
joined so far. If you have not
joined, follow this link:
http://greenwoodlab.ning.com/
You can join and make use of the site. Events, photos,
videos, podcasts, information,
etc. can be posted. People can
get information pretty quickly
and can respond back equally as
fast. I have it set up as a
private Ning site, which
requires you to know the site
address or to receive an
invitation. There are sections
for teachers & staff, parents,
students, and alums. Any
questions please ask me.

And this letter from our student
teacher...

Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Angie Lea and I am a
senior at Missouri State
University earning a degree in
Elementary Education. For the
next few weeks I will be a
student teacher in your child’s
classroom. My time will be
spent observing, planning,
instructing, motivating, and
most importantly learning! I am
excited to have the opportunity
to do my student teaching at
Greenwood where I know I will
have a very valuable experience.
Since I am going to be working
with your child, I thought you
would like to know a little more
about me. I’m from a small town
named Eugene, which is near
Jefferson City, Missouri. I
lived there all my life until I
moved to Springfield for a
higher education. My first year
of college I attended Ozarks
Technical Community College
where I earned an A.A. degree.
From there I transferred to MSU
to pursue an Elementary
Education degree with
expectations of graduating this
December. I have three older
brothers and am a proud aunt of
six nieces. I enjoy spending
time with my family and friends,
exercising, and relaxing.
I am looking forward to working
with Mrs. Johnson and your
child. I know that the things I
learn at Greenwood will be a
great asset in my future
teaching career. Please feel
free to contact me by sending a
note with your child or by
calling the school at 836-5124.
Thank you for your support and
cooperation!
Your Partner in Education,
Angie Lea |

Love and Logicisms , Wise Words About
Kids
by Jim and Charles Fay
Wise parents are consistently available
to listen to their children when
they hurt, are disappointed, or need
advice.
They teach their children how to
approach
them with sincere concerns, and they
are always willing to discuss problems
in
a calm, loving manner.
Wise parents never try
to convince kids that their
decisions are fair.
Chores are the basic building blocks
of pride and feelings of being loved and
needed by one's family. Kids who
have this
at home don't need to find it elsewhere.
Do not pay your kids for
completing their chores.
When kids say, "Mary's mom doesn't
make her do chores," wise parents
smile and say, "Well that's really sad
for Mary. Aren't you glad I love
you
enough to expect more of you?"
