COVRSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed as a review of Latin morphology and syntax and as an introduction to the reading of connected Latin prose. Topics covered include pronunciation, morphology, and vocabulary. By the end of the course, students will be able to read and write simple Latin sentences. As in any language course, extensive study outside of class is essential for success.

TESTING AND GRADING:
There will be five examinations, the fifth of which is also the final exam. Each will be completely comprehensive and each will be worth 20% of the final grade. In case of a borderline grade, the instructor may (but is not obliged to) consider factors such as superior classroom participation. Students concerned about their course grade should consult the instructor at once. No extra credit work will be assigned or accepted. Letter grades will be assigned as follows: 90-100%= A; 80-89.99%= B; 70-79.99%= C; 60-69.99%= D; 59.99%-below= F
