Spiraea x billiardii: Billiard Spirea

·         leaves alternate, deciduous, simple, oblong obovate, 1-1/5" long, with round-pointed tip of leaf; green above; lighter  underneath

·         stems dark brown to purplish, thin

·         flowers are rose-pink and tiny, but in large terminal panicles 4-8 inches tall

·         grows 3-6' tall and 2/3 to as wide in an upright oval shrub with new sprouts from base annually

·         prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soils; prefers colder climates, although does “OK” in Springifeld area

·         medium growth rate
