Location on Missouri State University campus:  north of Woods House dorm

             Aesculus glabra: Ohio Buckeye

                                       ·         leaves opposite, deciduous, palmately compound with 5-7 leaflets— similar to red buckeye; twigs, leaf size similar to red buckeye

                                       ·         grows 20-40' tall in rounded outline— larger than red buckeye

                                       ·         differs in having greenish-yellow flowers

                                       ·         has large, rounded fruit with thick, tan leathery covering with short spines on covering, surrounding usually one large, smooth brown nutlet; seeds are toxic

                                       ·         native to Missouri
