paler beneath; leaves 3-5" wide and 2/3 as long

stems shiny, reddish-brown when young with lenticels; leaf scars meet at point
at nodes

bark is medium brown and fissured

prefers full sun and is very soil adaptable as is
trident maple and
amur maple
·
grows 20-35' tall and almost or equally wide; pyramidal to rounded habit
·
slow to medium growth rate
