Juniperus conferta: Shore Juniper

Location on campus:  in raised rock bed near southeast corner of landscaped area south of Plaster Student Union (near Carrington) and in landscape bed between Plaster Student Union and MSU Bookstore.

·         leaves opposite, awl-like (standing out from twig), 1/4-1/2" long, strongly grooved on top side with white stripe running down middle of top of leaf

·         grows 1.5-2' high, spreads 4-6' diameter

·         slow growth rate

·         requires full sun to part shade, well-drained soils; can tolerate dry soils, but not wet
