Location on campus:  southwest corner of Carrington Hall; also on south side of gravel parking lot south of Grand between Kings and Dollison streets

Lonicera fragrantissima: Winter Honeysuckle

·         leaves simple, opposite, semi-evergreen, ovate with slight point at leaf tip; about 1-3" long and about 2/3 as wide; leaf surfaces dark green to blue green and glabrous

·         stems slender, light brown, somewhat shiny with white pith

·         flowers creamy white, about 2" diameter, very fragrant; produced in mid to late winter

·         rounded growth habit growing 6-10' tall and wide

·         prefers full sun to partial shade, soil adaptable except to very wet soils

·         medium to fast growth rate
