Article Presentations
- Select a specific
IT-related topic within the current chapter of
the text
- Search the Internet or other sources for an article
about that topic (article MUST be a minimum of 1000 words and
the article MUST be VERY IT-related). It is much
better if the article you find is fairly interesting, so search for a good
one.
- An article should not be older than five years.
- Send an email (subject line: CIS 429 article) to the instructor with
the name of the
topic found in the text and a link to the article or an attached digital copy of the article
(include in the email the page in the textbook where the specific topic is
found). If you can't link to the article or attach a digital copy, you
MUST bring a hard copy of the article to class.
- Give a 3-5 minute oral presentation of your topic
including
where and how you found the article and the major ideas contained in the
article (you can use note cards but do not read the presentation). If
possible display the article on the classroom computer and note any
important pictures or charts.
- The presentation will be graded on the quality of the
ideas presented and the quality of the presentation (you are easy to
understand, your points are made well, your presentation is logical and
interesting, you didn't read the presentation, etc.)
