Animal ______________________________________________

Information to include in your research:

• A picture of your animal (clip art, sketch, or scanned photo). You must have at least one and not more than three.

• A description of your animal’s habitat including the:
       • climate of habitat
       • shelter needed
       • your animal’s other survival needs, such as information about the following as it          pertains to your animal: its instincts, hibernation, migration, camouflage, and adaptations in lifestyles, body parts or characteristics
       • foods they depend upon
       • Is your animal an omnivore, herbivore, insectivore, or carnivore?
       • their enemies

Note:  You may not find all of this information in your research right away; some of the information you will need to find out by deduction or infer from what you already know.

* You should include a food web or at least a food chain, beginning with a producer and ending with your animal as the prey. You can create this web or chain using Inspiration or drawing it by hand on a 8 x 10 sheet of unlined paper so we can scan it and put it into your PowerPoint
        • Name your animal’s group name. For example: flock, mob, herd, etc.
        • How your animal cares for its young
        • Other interesting facts you might want to include are up to you.

**We will be using the Research Procedures guide sheet, so keep it handy.
