GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol)
GAMMA is an organization that is aimed at educating people, particularly members of fraternities and sororities, about the dangers of alcohol and impaired driving. Its purpose reads: “To increase overall awareness of issues and make all students, specifically Greeks, responsible for their own actions by providing constant education regarding alcohol and alcohol related health issues. To take a proactive approach to solving alcohol and health related problems on this campus and to address other issues of concern as deemed necessary.” In addition to this mission statement, the GAMMA organization has partnered with the local ‘Cheers’ program to promote designated driving, and they also provide a link to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) on their website http://studentorganizations.missouristate.edu/gamma/.
