IDEAS FOR THEME PROJECTS  

If you are having trouble thinking of a theme project, consider the following:

Select an endangered species (tigers, panda, sea turtle, etc.)

Select a chemical which is an environmental contaminant

• purposefully released, such as a pesticide
• accidentally released/leaked, such as jet fuel

Select a type of pollution or related problem (acid rain, ozone depletion, fertilizer run-off, etc)

Select an alternative energy source (hydrogen cars, wind, solar, etc.)

Select a management practice (controlling forest fires, crop rotation, hunting, etc.)

Select a piece of state/federal legislation relating to the environment, or an international treaty (clean air act, endangered species act, creation of national parks, etc.)

Analyze the socio-economic impact of  a natural resource use (lumber, strip mines, dams, off-shore drilling, etc)
