Blue Vervain

         Native, short-lived, simple perennial that grows 2-4 feet tall with slender terminal spikelets with purplish-blue flowers

         Leaves lanceolate, with indented veins, bright green, with some rough hairs (not woolly as with Hoary Vervain

         Similar to hoary vervain except blue vervain leaves have petioles and blue vervain is more commonly found in wet soils along streams and lakes
