Annual Bursage: (not in Weeds of the Great Plains, nor Weeds of the Northeast)

·         A summer annual weed in the same genus as common ragweed, but found more in the western part of the Midwest

·         Leaves often have more grayish hairs than annual ragweed, and are stiffer in texture, plus have a medicinal or bad odor if bruised

·         Inflorescence is similar to common ragweed, but is followed by large, burred seeds, with spiny burs

·         Found in disturbed, sandy, dry soils
