Parthenocissus tricuspidata:  Boston Ivy, Japanese Creeper

Location on campus:  growing on President's Wall on east side of Plaster Student Union.

·         leaves simple, deciduous, with 3 lobes, bright glossy green in color during summer; bright orange color (sometimes yellow or red) in fall

·         stems squarish with tendrils for clinging climbing and vertically arranged lenticels

·         fast growth rate to 30-50’ feet and much branching along walls

·         fairly adaptable in soil types and sun exposures; not quite as cold hardy as Virginia Creeper
