Camphorweed: (pp. 150-151, Weeds of the Great Plains—not in Weeds of the Northeast)

·         annual or biennial weed with alternate oval-leaves with toothed or smooth margins; grows 1-4' tall

·         leaves rough-textured above and below

·         flowers yellow at tips of branches on top of plant

·         leaves, flowers, stems have camphor-like (medicinal) odor if bruised

·         a similar weed, golden aster, doesn’t have strong camphor odor
