Cutleaf Nightshade:

·         native, low-growing, spreading summer annual weed with small, hairy,  lobed leaves (oak-like)

·         grows 6-12 inches tall, but can spread to up to 2 feet wide

·         flowers are small, white, 5-petaled with yellow center, followed by green globe-like berry that will eventually darken to purplish (usually—may stay green at ripening)

·         found in reduced tillage summer annual crops in northern Midwest and northern plains states

·         increased in population due to widespread use of herbicide that did not affect it, but being more effectively controlled now
