Field Pennycress:

·         cool season annual/winter annual with first year growth of oval leaves with rounded tips and distinct petiole

·         second year stalk grows 6-24” tall and produce white flowers followed by flat, rouned pods (siliques) with notch at tip

·         stem has bad odor if bruised

·         can be toxic to livestock in sufficient amounts are consumed

·         found in many cool season crops—serious pest in small grains

·         native perforated pennycress is similar, but much smaller—only 4-8” tall

o   commonly found in open and warm-season turf
