· native summer annual weed found in northern states cultivated crops and disturbed sites (in Missouri)
· leaves similar to common lambsquarters, but larger, more triangular and almost maple-like
· grows 3-6 feet tall, with less branching than usually found on common lambsquarters
· inflorescences at stem tips usually have flowers more spread out than in common lambsquarters
