Nuttall Povertyweed

*      low-growing, native summer annual, with spreading growth habit—6 inches tall by up to 18-24 inches wide

*      stems usually reddish, somewhat succulent

*      leaves dark-green to gray-green, spearhead-shaped sometimes with “mealy” texture

*      found in floodplains, open woods, streambanks; tolerant of salty soils and water

*      usually indicates poor soil quality if found in abundance
