Low Cudweed:  (pp. 144-145, Weeds of the Northeast—not in Weeds of the Great Plains)

·         low-growing summer or winter annual with white-wooly foliage and woolly flowering stems in the Asteraceae family

·         leaves are linear, about 1 inch long and 1/3 as wide; plant grows up to 18 inches tall unmowed, but can tolerate regular mowing

·         prefers dry, infertile soil; found in low-maintenance turf
