      annual or winter annual with erect stems—6-18” tall; leaves are thin, ½ - 1” long

      leaves & stems are very hairy

      inflorescence is also very hairy—looks like a rabbit’s foot

      found on dry, infertile soils as a turfgrass weed

      native to Missouri
