Showy Chloris: 

·         upright-growing annual grass with medium to gray-green leaves; grows 12-36” tall

·         sheaths/stem bases are strongly flattened; leaves and sheaths are not hairy; short, membrane-like ligule

·         inflorescences are large, feathery tan to silvery, digitat panicles with 4-12 branches that are 1-4” long

·         spikelets/seeds are held to one side of panicle branches

·         found on roadsides, cultivated fields, sand soils
