Soft Brome

·         Has pubescent leaves and leaf sheaths, like downy brome, but inflorescence spikelets are fatter, and broader, with few to many hairs

·         Panicle is also more upright, with short branches to spikelets

·         Can get taller than other Missouri annual bromegrasses—up to 3’ tall

·         Becoming increasingly more common in southwest Missouri
