Southern Crabgrass (not in Weeds of the Great Plains, mentioned on pp. 46-47 in  Weeds of the Northeast)

·         also with spreading growth habit, similar to smooth crabgrass and large crabgrass, but leaf blades have either no hairs or only a few short hairs near base of the blade; leaf sheath has long hairs (like large crabgrass)

·         leaf midvein is prominent

·         digitate panicle has 4-12 panicle branches, each 2-4.5” long
