Spurred Anoda:  (not in Weeds of the Great Plains, nor Weeds of the Northeast)

·        Bushy, branched weed growing to about 3-4’ tall and wide, common in southern U.S. (and southern MO) row crops

·        Has rough-hairy leaves and stems; leaves are triangular to 3-lobed with smaller teeth/lobes around the margin

·        Leaf may  have purplish mark near base of blade where it joins the petiole

·        Flowers are lavender, about 0.5-1” diameter in axils of leaves

·        Fruit is a circular, segmented, flattened fruit, somewhat similar to velvetleaf, but more flattened
