Tansy:
· creeping perennial plant with pinnately lobed, bright, dark-green toothed leaves growing 2-5 feet tall
· produces colonies by spread of creeping roots
· flowers are yellow, disk-type only, in terminal flat-topped clusters of mature plants
· plant has typical medicinal “tansy” odor
· can be toxic to livestock
· can be invasive in fertile, well-drained soils with adequate moisture
· more of a weed problem in northern U.S., Europe than in southwest Missouri
