·         short-lived, simple perennial, growing 2-5' tall

·         stems, leaves hairy; leaves trifoliate, egg-shaped

·         flowers, pink to white in a terminal spike

·         fruit is a hairy, but bur-like, segmented pod, which will attach to people/animals passing by and break into segments
