Tufted Lovegrass:  (not in Weeds of the Great Plains  nor Weeds of the Northeast)

·         summer annual similar to stinkgrass, but with larger, more open “airy” panicle inflorescences and smaller spikelets and florets; seedheads often gray-black or purplish in color

·         leaf blades narrow, often rolled in on edges, and often have a tuft of white hairs at the collar region

·         plants often have prostrate-spreading growth habit of foliage

·         tolerates sandy, wet, and compacted soils; found in disturbed sites, cultivated fields, lawns, roadsides and riparian areas
