Western Ragweed: (pp.66-67, Weeds of the Great Plains; not in Weeds of the Northeast)

*    a creeping perennial weed, with creeping roots; more common west of here; is a noxious weed in some western states

*    has leaves similar to common ragweed, but stems and leaves are thicker, more rough-textured than common ragweed; flowers similar to common ragweed

*    grows 12-36” tall, found in most soils except very wet

*    common in vacant lots, roadsides, pastures
