spike inflorescence often bends over just at tip, is semi-flexible

·           medium sized plant of the group, usually 18-24" tall

·           has hairless leaves

·               stems often very thin, also hairless

·           inflorescence "foxtail" is only slightly drooping; may be green or purplish

·           inflorescence is medium sized for group, usually 2-4"

·           also a serious agronomic crop weed, similar to giant foxtail

*           compare also with yellow foxtail and bristly foxtail
