Red Morningglory, Scarlet Morningglory:

·        summer annual twining vine with hairless, reddish, ridged stems

·        flowers, small, bright red in axils of leaves

·        leaves are either heart-shaped, or sometimes 3-5 lobed (like pitted morningglory or  ivyleaf morningglory)

·        egg-shaped to rounded, angular seed pod

·        found in drier soils; native to southwestern U.S.
